My path to becoming a therapist was not a straight line.

I spend as much time as I can get away with in other worlds, and I travel by whatever means possible. History, language, books, TTRPGs . . . I’ll jump through any portal you put in front of me.

First came the PhD in History, then the university writing centre, then retraining in psychotherapy and, now, the armchair on the other side of your screen.

I loved life in the archives, but the university institution was too . . . institutional, so I followed my passion for teaching to the writing centre, where I mentored hundreds of brilliant students while pushing conventional boundaries and finding ways to keep their writing theirs while conforming just enough to please The Academy.

What’s the through-line? Curiosity is my highest stat, and I’ve spent years standing on the edge of unfamiliar territory with others while they find their way forward.

When I’m not working, you can find me curled up with a book, digging in the dirt, dancing at my local pole studio, watching LotR for the fiftieth time or trying to convince my cats (Cinder & Ember) that they can be witches’ familiars if they believe in themselves hard enough.

Qualifications, education &c.

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I follow their ethical codes and standards of practice.

I received my MA Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am preparing to pursue an advanced diploma with the Existential Analysis Society of Canada. I also hold a PhD in History from the University of Guelph.
